Admiration Society . . .
I admit it. Even though I'm still working (and meeting most deadlines...), I have lost my voice. No, not literally, but that 'figurative voice' that is expressed through creativity and artistic talent. I feel as if I'm simply "going-thru-the-motions," but not really tapping my true potential. Is my muse, perhaps, on extended holiday?
Consider the ever-upbeat, bubbly personality that exudes from the posts at Windfall Woman's blog. She has the ability to always bring a smile to your face when you visit her site. Or, Zen Wizard, who has a way of taking the ordinary and finding the most obscure tid-bits and twisting them into something totally hilarious. And, my dear friend Grey Biker who I can always depend on to mix his somewhat 'racy' humor with terrific stories and wonderful slices of life. There's also my dear friend Bonez who finds some of the most amazing and unusual things to share with us, and is a terrific writer when he chooses to use his own words. Steel Cowboy brings a homespun charm to his site, woven with heartwarming stories that always have a special way of touching your soul. Then, there's David Amulet who combines his sharp wit and twist-of-phrase to 'make-you-think' while still making you laugh. And, my close, personal friend Patricia Paris who is not only a three-time published author, but a highly regarded syndicated columnist with a down-home country charm. T Marie who, regardless of what her post might be, always ends each one with five "Silver Linings" for the day. Then, there's Deb who has a wonderful eye, and shares her photos with us on her site. And, Tech who has a glorious grasp of the language and captures thoughts with such beauty and eloquence. Of course, the rich and famous also don't mind getting into the blogging act. Probably one of the most famous bloggers is Wil Wheaton. Then, there is RuPaul who blogs about any, and everything that's happening in her busy life. Jeff Bridges has a very unique blog with lots of scribbles, hand-written notes and drawings. Kevin Smith keeps a fairly updated blog as well. And, Rosie O'Donnell's blog, like herself, is strangely controlled, yet unpredictable. I admire all of these bloggers for their dedication to, and continuity of, their sites. I feel as if my blogs are rather schizophrenic in nature. I'm literally "all-over-the-page," so to speak, in my postings, as I can't seem to find a particular theme or subject matter that I want to dedicate my sites to in a strict fashion. I'm just not that linear in my thinking. That just seems so confining and stifling to creativity. Just another example of "right-brained" thinking, a typical personality trait of an artistic type - but, frustrating to all of those linear, concrete left-brained (anal-retentive) types that encounter me. Believe me, I've frustrated quite a few people throughout my life (sometimes intentionally)! As bloggers, do you sometimes feel as if you're struggling with "writer's block?" How do you get past it?
