Good Fences Make . . .
This old adage doesn't really hold a lot of truth for me right now . . .
The tale of the traveling fence continues . . . Since the original [name withheld] Fence Company refuses to stand behind their work and move the portion of the fence that they installed incorrectly, it seems that we will be forced to file a case in Court to reach a settlement on that issue. In the meantime, to "keep-the-peace," as it were, with the beligerent neighbor who is being beyond unreasonable in this matter, my s.o., J. and B. spent most of Sunday afternoon moving as much of the erroneously installed portion of the offending side of the fence as they could. They were able to get approximately over 1/3, but not quite 1/2, of the offending side relocated. Today is the first day my s.o. has had to return to working on it. He and B. and K.C. are going to try to get the rest of the offending side relocated today.
Granted, the original [name withheld] Fence Company shot themselves in the foot when they refused to correct their mistake. We were going to let them go ahead and add the extension onto the back portion of the property (we had originally only fenced in halfway to the back property line). We obtained a quote last Autumn on what the extension would cost, and when they made the proposal to move the existing incorrectly installed portion of fence and add the extension, the price had more than doubled to $4K for two side extensions that would still be using the same back fence section (just relocated), and the other relocation which should be at their expense for their screw-up of pulling off of the wrong pins initially.
And, whoever said "good fences make good neighbors" didn't live next door to this guy!
